Math doesn't suck, you do. →
Moment of inspiration, peoples! As I sit at home forcing my way through a Ruby on Rails textbook (ahem, surfing tha interwebs) I found this gem and got right back to chapter 3. Starting with: “Sucking at math is like sucking at cooking. I’m tired of eating shitty food because you’re too much of a dipshit to follow a recipe. “ Just.Click.

On Entitlement
From the NY Times yesterday: “‘What was the point of working so hard for 22 years if there was nothing out there?’ said Ms. Morales, who is now a paralegal and plans on attending law school.” Just catching up on the latest early-20-something-woes article “Generation Limbo: Waiting it Out”. Awesome Q+A in the Times with Neil from Warby Parker.  Some interesting nuggets: “Many of the loan officers said we had a reputable business that was cash-flow positive and we had the most sophisticated business plan they’d ever seen, but they can’t provide loans to people who don’t have two years of tax returns.” “We have never met with politicians. Fact-Checking the NY Post
Nice listicle today in an article in the NY Post on “New York Tech Giants”. Problem is that it is filled with either half-truths or straight-up errors. Is this a common thing?  I get it that the NY Post isn’t Mashable and doesn’t write about this stuff every day but surely someone there should know that foursquare isn’t an e-commerce company.  Maybe my expectations...

A new movie theater. In the Burg. That serves booze. For anyone else nostalgic for Alamo Draft House up here in the blue states, this is the closest I’ve seen. From Gothamist:  ”you should buy in advance online, because this joint is filling a huge void and will be slammed.” So excited!!

“Back in the 1990s when some of us were first trying to understand what strange and new medium the Internet was, several of us coalesced around the idea that it is a personality-driven medium. Its mock intimacy favored content that highlighted personal voice, conversational tone, etc. This observation seems trite and obvious now. Remember when many editors instructed their writers to ...
