Moment of inspiration, peoples! As I sit at home forcing my way through a Ruby on Rails textbook (ahem, surfing tha interwebs) I found this gem and got right back to chapter 3.
Starting with: “Sucking at math is like sucking at cooking. I’m tired of eating shitty food because you’re too much of a dipshit to follow a recipe. “

Fact-Checking the NY Post
Nice listicle today in an article in the NY Post on “New York Tech Giants”.
Problem is that it is filled with either half-truths or straight-up errors. Is this a common thing? I get it that the NY Post isn’t Mashable and doesn’t write about this stuff every day but surely someone there should know that foursquare isn’t an e-commerce company. Maybe my expectations...

This is the Internet, where we screw each other over for a jolt of satisfaction.
– From LulzSec.
“The IPO market for tech companies in web 1.0 was a disaster for the public because the companies failed to become businesses half the time. In fact, they went public so early they were a riskier buy than the incoming class at Y Combinator or TechStars (really).”
—Jason Calacanis in the latest Launch newsletter
“Back in the 1990s when some of us were first trying to understand what strange and new medium the Internet was, several of us coalesced around the idea that it is a personality-driven medium. Its mock intimacy favored content that highlighted personal voice, conversational tone, etc. This observation seems trite and obvious now. Remember when many editors instructed their writers to ...
